What is the operation process of an industrial endoscope? What are the operation steps and precautions?

Industrial endoscopes, as an important non-destructive testing tool, play a crucial role in multiple industrial fields such as aero engines, pipeline systems, and wind turbine generators. To ensure the detection effect and extend the service life of the equipment, it is crucial to master its standardized operation procedures and precautions.

Preparations before operation

Adequate preparation is the first step to ensure the smooth progress of the test.

Equipment inspection: First, make sure the power connection is correct. Turn on the power switch of the main unit, wait for the system to start normally, and check whether the display screen and touch screen respond sensitively. Then, carefully check whether all the accessories are complete, such as USB Type C data cable, HDMI data cable, adapter, etc.

Probe selection and installation: According to the characteristics of the object to be detected (such as the size of the internal space and the detection distance), choose the appropriate insertion tube, and pay attention to parameters such as its diameter, length, depth of field and field of view. Firmly install the selected insertion tube onto the handle and ensure there is no leakage at the connection.

Function pre-check: Before inserting the probe, it is essential to conduct a function check: confirm that the control wheel can provide a complete range of lens rotation (i.e., the control line function is normal); Check whether the air blowing and lens cleaning functions are normal; Check if the suction power is sufficient; And make sure the image is displayed clearly on the screen.

The operation steps in the detection

Standardized testing operations are the core to obtaining accurate results.

Parameter Settings: Select the appropriate measurement mode on the main screen and enter basic information such as the name of the object to be detected and the date. According to the actual detection environment, adjust image parameters such as color mode, exposure time, and white balance to achieve the best observation effect.

Insertion and control: Slowly insert the probe into the interior of the object to be inspected. When operating, dual joysticks are usually used to control the direction and Angle of the probe. During the advancement process, try to keep the probe at the center of the pipe or cavity. By observing the screen and using the joystick to adjust the direction of the probe, keep the lens always focused on the area that needs to be observed.

Observation and Recording: During the detection process, images are observed in real time through the display screen. Once any suspicious defects or images that need to be saved are found, promptly use the device's photo-taking or video recording function to record them. For some parts that require special attention, text annotations can be added during shooting to facilitate subsequent analysis.

Maintenance and upkeep after operation

Proper maintenance and care can significantly extend the service life of endoscopes.

Probe cleaning: After each use, immediately clean the probe and the insertion tube to prevent residual contaminants from drying up and solidifying, which may affect the next use. When cleaning the lens, gently wipe the eyepiece and objective lens with lens paper.

Equipment storage: After use, hang the endoscope vertically on a dedicated rack. This can effectively prevent the hose from deforming due to long-term curling.

Regular calibration: Calibrate the equipment regularly in accordance with the cycle recommended by the manufacturer to ensure the accuracy of the measurement data. If a decline in image quality or any abnormality is detected in the equipment, its use should be immediately stopped and professional personnel should be contacted for maintenance.

Important operation precautions

Following these precautions can effectively prevent equipment damage and detection errors.

Probe protection: The light guide beam and image transmission beam of an industrial endoscope are its key components. During operation, handle it with care to avoid any collision. Do not bend or press the optical fiber hose at a sharp Angle, otherwise it will increase the black spots in the field of view and even cause the optical fiber to break.

Operation details: During the inspection, the movements should be gentle and the insertion should be slow to prevent damage to the mirror surface or the mirror body due to excessive force. Try to keep the surface being measured perpendicular to the probe's line of sight and ensure that the lens is as close to the object being measured as possible to obtain the clearest image. Cold light sources should not be used for too long and should be turned on as needed.

Equipment maintenance: It is crucial to keep the eyepiece and objective lens clean. If there is any dirt, be sure to wipe it with dedicated lens paper.

By following the above operation procedures and precautions, you can use the industrial endoscope more safely and efficiently, making it truly your "sharp eyes" to detect potential hazards inside the equipment. If there are any uncertainties when using a specific model, remember to consult the user manual of the product at any time.
